Eventually, I found my way and learned more photography stuff out and I got my hands on a real camera where I worked to learn all its functions and cyber stalked other photographers and magazines to figure out how to make not just a picture, but a portrait. I practiced on animals, trees, friends and little by little I got good enough to get requests for my talents and BOOM one day someone offered to PAY ME. That was it, I was a photographer, I was getting paid to take pictures with a semi-expensive camera and people actually liked what developed.
Fast Forward Several Years:
In the mix of it all I took pictures and edited them searching for the best style of each shoot. What I failed to recognize was that I wasn't consistent and every shoot looked different from the other. In my mind, I was being fresh and keeping the art alive by continuing to grow my abilities and always offering a new spin. However, what I was really doing was saying "I don't have a niche or specific style". This is far from the truth though and in the last year or so I have found that my images reflect consistency and this gives my clients and prospective clients an understanding of who I am and what I do. It also allows me to do and create pictures that actually reflect who I am as a photographer. I like clean images with my subjects popping and a backdrop in a natural setting that yields soft light and warm tones. That is MY STYLE and that's what I'll focus on delivering my clients from here on out.
My appeal to photography has always been in the pursuit of connecting with people and in freezing a moment that will mean something to someone for a long time to come. I enjoy the weddings, the babies, the bellies, the kiddos and crazy families and the times where things get a little haywire. I want to be there to catch the giggles and wiggles and the love that's being shared. I really want to be your photographer. To me it's not a job, it's a joy.
